in accordance with Law 131/2002 on Higher Education, Law 552/2003 on Public Service Employment, and the university’s selection principles for university teachers, researchers, and senior officials, announces a recruitment process for the following position:
Postdoctoral Research Associate
Department of Glass processing, Centre for Functional and Surface Functionalized Glasses
Qualifications and Experience:
- A Ph.D. (or equivalent doctoral degree) in Chemistry, Materials Science, or Materials Engineering is required.
- Relevant specialization areas include Chemistry, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, and Inorganic Non-Metallic Materials.
- Experience in glass science geopolymer-like materials, including synthesis, processing, development, and characterization of inorganic materials.
- Excellent manufacturing experience in Additive Manufacturing Technology-3D printing (FDM, SLA, DIW, Binder Jetting), CAD software, design and development of novel glass, glass-ceramics, and geopolymer-like materials in 3D structures for various applications (light-weight material, building sector, recycling/upcycling, wastewater treatment, etc).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct fundamental and applied research in glass processing, including preparation, development, and advanced material characterization, aligned with the project's research directions.
- Actively seek research funding to support and expand the centre’s research agenda.
- Foster collaborations with industrial partners and academic institutions both nationally and internationally.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary research teams.
- Publish research findings in high-impact journals and present at scientific conferences.
- Contribute to preparing and managing research proposals, scientific publications, technical reports, and analyzing complex scientific challenges.
