Public Administration - Bakalár (Bc.) - full-time

Admission Requirements:

Obtain full secondary education or full secondary vocational education and successful admission process.

The conditions for foreign students are identical to the conditions of Slovak students.

Applicants undergo the admission procedure. The best applicants will be admitted to study according to the results of the admission procedure. The results of the admission procedure are found as the sum of the points obtained for the average result at the secondary school and the points for the individual type of secondary school. The average result at secondary school is calculated as the arithmetic mean of the grades at the end of the 1st to 3rd year of study.

Information about the Programme of Study:

Bachelor study graduates, program of study "Public Administration", field of study 3.3.5 "Public Administration and Regional Development" are able to systematize and analyse the problems of public administration. They have basic knowledge of the regulatory environment of public administration. They are familiar with the methods and techniques of analysis of substantive issues in public administration and management methods applied in public administration. They have theoretical and practical knowledge on the state economy and its structure, organization and institutional structure of the public administration, and knowledge about methods and techniques of acquisition, processing and analysing information and background in the field of public economics, as a science investigating the economic aspects of the public sector at national, regional and local level. Graduates in "Public Administration” can work as professionals in various fields of organizational structures and public administration bodies to deal with particular local and regional development, as well as other public institutions (corporations) and non-profit organizations. Graduates in Public Administration are qualified to work as Specialists in Public Administration and Regional Development.

Graduates of the study program „Public Administration“:

  • get master basic theory concepts and facts related to the general system of economics and economy with a special emphasis on its local and regional subsystem;
  • are able to apply theoretical knowledge in the processing of technical documentation for decisions of government entities primarily within local and regional government and local government ;
  • are able to assess the feasibility of the proposed measures based on the analysis of economic facts and applicable legislation;
  • are able to work on projects of social and economic development at the appropriate level of public administration with a special emphasis on local and regional government as well as local government;
  • are able to employ methods and tools of national economic, regional and municipal policy in general, as well as public policy of the state;
  • are able to ensure operational activities at various levels (sections) of public administration, primarily local and regional government as well as local state administration levels;
  • are able to understand and implement new trends and reforms in the field of public administration;
  • are able to present factual issues in public administration and propose solutions;
  • are able to work efficiently in interdisciplinary teams;
  • are able to use software in managing territorial development (local and regional government),
  • are able to manage their further education in the field of public administration.
