Admission Requirements:
The completion of secondary school leaving examination is the basic acceptance requirement. Another acceptance requirement is the successful passing of admission test – a biochemistry test in the scope of secondary school subjects.
Information on the Programme of Study:
The graduate of the bachelor´s study programme Laboratory Medicine is competent in basic determination processes in the indication of all laboratory examinations that are common to the medical profession. He/she is able to work with experts in medical disciplines creating investigation bodies, by application of special diagnostic algorithms. The graduate is able to analyse and synthesise the acquired knowledge in order to help clinical and therapeutic activities that provide benefit to the patient.
The graduate of the bachelor´s study program Laboratory Medicine can find a wide range of job opportunities in the field of clinical biochemistry, microbiology, pharmacology, pathology (cytology), haematology, genetics, toxicology, immunology, or allergology, and can also work in hygiene laboratory service, as well as in scientific laboratories. The graduate has prerequisites for the further study at university, or in the field of specialised, and continuous education.
