in accordance with the Law 131/2002 on Higher Education, the Law 552/2003 on the work in public interest and in accordance with the principles of selection process of university teachers, researchers, and chief officers of TnUAD
announces recruitment process for:

1 work position: Head of the Department of Coating Technologies of the Centre for functional and surface functionalized glasses (FunGlass)

There is immediate opening for the position of the Head of the Department of Coating Technologies in the Centre for functional and surface functionalized glasses at the Alexander Dubček University of Trenčín, Slovakia. The appointment is for at least five years with possible extension of the contract dependent upon research progress and ability to secure additional research funding. Position is open immediately upon completion of recruitment process.

Qualifications and Experience:

• A Ph. D. in Glass Science, Materials Science and Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics or a closely allied field
• Meeting the criteria for a position of associate professor or professor at the Alexander Dubček University of Trenčín in the field of Inorganic technology and materials
• A strong background in synthesis, processing, development, and characterization of coatings
• Experience with management of research projects,
• Experience with management of a small research team.

The position involves:

• Management of the Department of Coating Technologies
• Management of the department research facilities,
• Responsibility for the research programme of the department, in line with the research areas defined in the project application,
• Supervision of PhD students,
• Securing funding for the research programme pursued in the department.

• A brief outline for further development and management of the department.
